EUBra-BIGSEA - Europe-Brazil Collaboration of BIG Data Scientific Research through Cloud-Centric Applications

EUBra-BIGSEA is developing a QoS architecture that will predict resource consumption of Big Data Analytics applications in order to pre-allocate and dynamically adjust virtualized infrastructures. EUBra-BIGSEA will leverage mixed horizontal and vertical elasticity on hybrid container and VM infrastructures to support a rich Data Analytic framework powered by OPHIDIA, COMPSs and Spark, which will be enriched with these capabilities.

BigClouT - Big data meeting Cloud and IoT for empowering the citizen clout in smart cities

BigClouT project makes use of today’s three key technologic enablers, Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing and big data, for the objective of increasing the efficiency in using urban infrastructure, economic and natural resources shared by the increasing population. BigClouT will offer an analytic mind to the city by creating distributed intelligence that can be implanted throughout the whole city network.

SERECA - Secure Enclaves for REactive Cloud Applications

The SERECA project provides an infrastructure that protects the integrity and confidentiality of applications running in untrusted cloud environments, even against malicious insiders with super-privileges. This relies on a set of facilities/tools useful to transparently leverage the new ISA extension of Intel's CPU, namely Software Guard eXtension (SGX).

SUPERCLOUD - User-centric management of security and dependability in clouds of clouds

Distributed clouds are about systems that should work across multiple administrative domains, some of which may not be trusted. One currently observes a lack of interoperability between heterogeneous, often proprietary infrastructure technologies such as networking and virtualization across multiple domains, or misses a unified experience of data protection across providers. Moreover, there is a lack of provider infrastructure flexibility to enable user-control over security, either too monolithic, or failing to give access to users to low-level resources.


openModeller provides a flexible, robust, cross-platform environment to carry out ecological niche modeling experiments. It is comprised of a single framework written in C++ allowing multipe interfaces on top of it, such as command line programs, Desktop interface, Web interface and Web Service interface.


Six complementary experiments are being demonstrated and evaluated. Pilots are based on the following business solutions of MO-BIZZ partners: customer relationship management solutions; enterprise resource planning solutions; mobile business intelligence; mobile marketing; business collaboration and SmartGrid.

iKaaS - intelligent Knowledge-as-a-Service Platform

iKaaS is paving the way towards trouble-free multi-cloud based services. We envision that in this scenario, many parties can be a provider as well as a consumer of cloud-based assets, helping to extend cloud capabilities and leverage at the same time the wealth of knowledge and services empowered through this.
