Readiness for Cloud Computing in the European Public Sector - the Cloud for Europe project aims to remove the obstacles for cloud adoption, to harmonise the requirements from different public organisations beyond national borders and to establish a digital single market for cloud computing in Europe.
With 5.6 million SMEs in Brazil and the next 3 years being crucial for Brazil with the upcoming World Cup Olympic Games 2016, the provisioning of new digital services between EU & Brazilian Start-ups may be ideal. The CloudWATCH coordinator was invited to speak at this key policy workshop which was held in the context of the regular EU-Brazil Information Society Dialogue (at the level of Secretary of State, Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation).
Linda Strick, Fraunhofer FOKUS gave a presenatation during the session focussing on Filling the identified gaps in Cloud standardization. The talk focussed on CloudWATCH objectives and how the project can accelerate cloud adoption in Europe. Important opportunity to showcase CloudWATCH to OASIS and the event's presetigious participants from government, industry, and academia.
